Semiconduttori: nel 2005 una crescita del 15%

Questo è quanto emerge dal ‘2005 Annual Semiconductor Markets Report’ e dai ‘Semiconductor Monthly Update Reports’, realizzati dalla società di ricerche Future Horizons, specializzata in analisi sull’industria dei semiconduttori, nonostante l’influenza negativa di fattori come la recessione economica, la continua riduzione dei margini e la difficoltà delle imprese di adeguare la produzione dei chip ai rapidi cambiamenti della domanda.

Malcolm Penn, presidente e amministratore delegato della società, ha dipinto questo scenario mostrando alcuni dati tratti da tali ricerche nel corso del 14° International Electronics Forum, svoltosi in maggio a Malta. Come ha spiegato Penn, anche se nell’ultimo trimestre del 2004 e nei primi mesi del 2005 l’industria dell’elettronica ha mantenuto un andamento piatto, nella seconda metà del 2005 il settore potrà riprendersi, traendo nuova forza da una sostanziale stabilità della domanda di semiconduttori e dalla maturazione di mercati come quello dei PC e dei telefoni cellulari che, secondo le previsioni di Future Horizons, nel 2005 cresceranno rispettivamente dell’8% e del 4,7%.

This is a result of 2005 Annual Semiconductor Markets Report and Semiconductor Monthly Update Reports carried out by Future Horizons, a market research company focused on semiconductor industry, despite the negative influence of factors like the economic downturn, the progressive reduction of margins and the problems of businesses about the capacity to match the chip production with the end markets demand, which is quickly changing.
Malcolm Penn, chairman and chief executive officer of Future Horizons, painted this scenario showing some figures about these studies in the 14th International Electronics Forum, organized in May in Malta. As Penn said, even if in the last quarter of 2004 and in the early months of 2005 the electronics industry showed a flat trend, in the second half of this year the sector will take a new strength from a substantial stability of semiconductors demand and from the maturation of some market areas like PC market and cellular phone market which, according to the Future Horizons forecast, in 2005 will grow respectively of 8% and 4.7%.
