Intel acquires Italy’s YogitechERT

Intel has acquired Yogitech, an  Italian company focused on functional safety for semiconductors.

The Yogitech team will join Intel’s IoT Group and use their expertise to help Intel with their development efforts in autonomous machines, robotics and advanced programs for the industrial IoT and automotive verticals.

Yogitech is a leading provider of services and solutions to silicon vendors and system integrators to help them meet their functional safety challenges. YOgitech is an Italian company based in Pisa since 2000, specializing in the design, prototyping and usage assistance of hardware intellectual properties, software and software tools for functional safety.  The main reference market is automotive while other domains such as industrial automation, railway and biomedical are also catching up.

“The talented Yogitech team, based in Italy, will soon join Intel’s Internet of Things Group. This acquisition furthers our efforts to win in ADAS, robotics and autonomous machines for market segments like automotive, industrial and other IoT systems that require functional safety and high performance”, said Ken Caviasca of Intel’s IoT group in a blog post.

“We’re excited to welcome the Yogitech team to Intel – said Caviasca  – While we’re not ready to share product roadmap details yet, this team and technology will take our autonomous systems efforts to the next level”.
