Arrow Electronics to offer Silex wireless connectivity solutions

Arrow has signed a global distribution agreement with Silex Technology. Under the agreement, Arrow will distribute Silex Technology w-fi modules to its broad base of customers.

Silex Technology is a Freescale Proven Partner and created the Freescale-recommended w-fi solution for i.MX6-based products. Silex Technology is also one of approximately ten Qualcomm Atheros Authorized Design Centers in the world, with radio source code and access to Qualcomm Atheros engineering to provide customers with the high level of support that they require. Arrow customers now can purchase Silex Technology modules to add w-fi connectivity to their Freescale i.MX6- and Kinetis-based applications.

“Secure, reliable w-fi connectivity is critical to Arrow customers. With access to Silex’s best-in-class solutions, our customers will have a competitive advantage as they expand their development of Internet of Things technologies and devices,” said David West, vice president of semiconductor marketing, global components, for Arrow.

“With Silex Technology w-fi modules, Arrow customers can add w-fi connectivity to their products and create more marketable devices,” said Keith Sugawara, vice president of business development for Silex. “Silex provides a turn-key, one-vendor solution including pre- and post-integration support to help our customers get to market quickly and troubleshoot post-sale field problems efficiently.”
