Vishay extends useful life of 500 V 159 PUL-SI series capacitors

Vishay Intertechnology announced that the company has extended the useful life of 500 V devices in its 159 PUL-SI series of snap-in power aluminum capacitors. The Vishay BC components devices now offer a useful life of 5.000 hours at +105 °C.

159 PUL-SI capacitors are available in a variety of case sizes ranging from 22 x 25 mm to 35 x 60 mm and voltages from 200 V to 500 V. Capacitance range is from 56 µF to 1800 µF with tolerance of ± 20 %. The devices feature high ripple current to 2.80 A, maximum ESR down to 150 mΩ at 100 Hz, and a maximum operating temperature to +105 °C.

Featuring a cylindrical aluminum case with a pressure relief valve, insulated with a blue sleeve, 159 PUL-SI series devices are suited for smoothing, filtering, and energy storage in pulsed power applications (solar PV inverters, industrial motor control, and power supplies).
