Winbond has announced that their TrustME W77Q Secure Flash family has become the first Flash vendor globally to achieve ISO/SAE 21434 international standard certification. This certification holds significance for automotive industry Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs), as it ensures adherence to global regulatory requirements. The ISO/SAE 21434 standard, named “Road vehicles – cybersecurity engineering“, is a collaborative effort between the International Organization for Standardization (ISO) and SAE International, aimed at enhancing automotive system resilience against cyber-attacks to ensure road user safety. This standard applies to road vehicles and related cybersecurity components, including IC components, and compliance with UNECE R155 is essential for acquiring EU-Type approval and GSR-based vehicle approval.
