The embedded AWARD 2016 were presented at a festive ceremony held during an international press tour on the first day of the embedded world 2016 on 23 February 2016. The coveted award is a prize that the embedded community awards to its most active and innovative members. The embedded AWARDS were presented in the traditional categories of hardware, software and tools. Professor Matthias Sturm, the chair of the jury, and Dr Roland Fleck, the managing director of NürnbergMesse, presented the prizes to the winners.

“For the 12th year in a row, the embedded AWARD is recognising products that help in a special way to advance the entire sector of embedded systems and the Internet of Things (IoT), and that are expected to help significantly advance the development of new ideas. The prize expresses gratitude and recognises new opportunities which are opening up. The large number of highly qualified submissions demonstrates the embedded community’s innovative strength, activity and dynamism,” says Professor Matthias Sturm, chair of the Trade Fair Advisory Committee and the chair of the jury.

KEOLABS wins in the hardware category with IoTize

IoTize is a flexible communication solution that can contribute to the continued growth of the Internet of Things. This solution uses common communication interfaces (e.g. NFC, Bluetooth, Bluetooth Low Energy and Wi-Fi), but also existing embedded solutions that do not currently have a network connection.

QNX Software Systems impresses in the software category with QNX OS for Safety

QNX has developed a special operating system that has been pre-certified up to IEC 61508:2010 SIL 3 in order to effectively support developers in this task.
