Axivion Suite 7.6 focuses on the needs of distributed teams
Now that Axivion, a provider for innovative software solutions for static code analysis and protection from software erosion, has become a part of the Qt Group, their flag ship product Axivion Suite also merges with the Qt product world: The latest release Axivion Suite 7.6 not only comes with automated checks for the most recent MISRA rules, but also incorporates Qt specific rules and integrates the QML analysis tool qmllint. Even more importantly, the tool suite for static code analysis and architecture verification simplifies the setup especially for globally distributed teams with individual CI/CD routines, and adds an option for CLion to perform analyses on local computers.
The Axivion Suite contains a MISRA checker which is covering almost 100% of all automatically testable MISRA rules. To keep up with the latest standards, release 7.6 adds automated checks for the MISRA C:2012 Amendment 3 and MISRA C:2023 rules and directives. Qt customers will appreciate the integration of Qt-specific rules. With the new release, the Axivion Suite also integrates the qmlint QML analysis tool.
The probably biggest benefit of the new release 7.6 is the simplified setup. The latest release 7.6 offers an alternative mode where only the web server accesses the database location, and the analysis side uses upload/download to web server.
Axivion Suite is designed to integrate seamlessly with existing development environments, test infrastructures and CD/CI processes. Users of CLion, the cross-platform C/C++ IDE for Linux, OS X, and Windows, will appreciate the new option allowing developers to conduct analyses on their local computer. In perspective, Axivion is also working on the integration of a QtCreator plugin to make all functions for static code analysis and architecture verification available to users as part of the Qt Quality Assurance product portfolio.
