Allegro MicroSystems: AEC-100 Hall-effect latch ICs

Posted 19 May 2017

Allegro MicroSystems Europe has announced APS12205, APS12215, and APS12235, a low voltage family of AEC-Q100 qualified three-wire Hall-effect latches.

The latches are produced on the Allegro advanced BiCMOS wafer fabrication process, which implements a patented high-frequency chopper stabilisation technique that improves magnetic stability over the full operating temperature range, and eliminates offsets inherent in devices with a single Hall element that are exposed to harsh application environments.

APS122x5 family is suitable for systems where the sensor ICs will be behind a voltage regulator or that do not require double battery or reverse battery protection.

This new family of devices was optimised for the speed and position sensing of ring-magnets (motors/encoders) or other moving/rotating assemblies and is targeted at 2.8 to 5.5 V automotive and industrial markets.

Key end-applications include motor commutation and speed and direction sensing in automotive window lifts, sunroofs and tail-/lift-gates, white goods, automated window blinds, garage door openers, sliding doors.
