Rutronik acquires EnOcean as partner for wireless products

Rutronik Elektronische Bauelemente  is expanding its wireless portfolio to include EnOcean products.

The German specialist for self-powered wireless solutions offers sub-1 GHz and 2.4 GHz wireless modules, switches, sensors, and development kits based on the EnOcean wireless protocol (an open international standard since 2011), ZigBee, and Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE).

Rutronik is also joining the EnOcean Alliance. The partnership is effective immediately and involves the worldwide distribution of the EnOcean product range.

“Rutronik and EnOcean have already collaborated a number of times in the past on joint customer projects related to our new module generation,” says Markus Florian, Sales Director Central Europe, EnOcean GmbH.

“Our innovative, self-powered wireless products are an excellent addition to Rutronik’s existing wireless portfolio. The company’s well-trained team of field application engineers (FAE) and business development managers and its large global sales force focused on the new IoT markets are both exactly in line with our own strategy.”

Rutronik is also extremely satisfied with the new partnership: “We are one of the market leaders among distributors when it comes to ultralow-power wireless solutions. Up to now, however, these have all required at least a button cell for power. By adding EnOcean’s products to our portfolio, we can now offer our customers wireless technology based on energy harvesting. In addition, EnOcean has earned itself an excellent reputation in the market in recent years. And effective immediately, we are going to expand that reputation together on an international level,” says Kerstin Wagner, Product Sales Manager Wireless, Rutronik.
