Automotive-Grade PIN Photodiodes Deliver 7.5 mm² Sensitive Area in Low-Profile Packages
Vishay is broadening its optoelectronics portfolio with the introduction of two new automotive-grade high-speed silicon PIN photodiodes in top-view, surface-mount packages measuring 5 mm by 4 mm by 0.9 mm. Offering a large sensitive area of 7.5 mm², the Vishay Semiconductors VEMD5010X01 and VEMD5110X01 provide high radiant sensitivity with a reverse light current of 48 µA and a very low dark current of 2 nA for automotive, industrial, and medical applications.
New Standard, Schottky, and FRED Pt Rectifiers Increase Power Density With SMF Package
Vishay is introducing seven new rectifiers in the compact, low-profile, surface-mount SMF (DO-219AB) eSMP package. Offering forward currents of 1 A and 2 A and low forward voltage drops and leakage currents, the AEC-Q101-qualified devices reduce power losses and improve efficiency in automotive applications. They include one standard, three Schottky barrier, and three Hyperfast and Ultrafast FRED Pt rectifiers for high-frequency DC/DC converter, freewheeling diode, and power line polarity protection applications in automotive systems, including engine control units (ECU), antilock braking systems (ABS), and LED lighting.
Polymer Tantalum Chip Capacitors Offer Ultra-Low ESR in Compact J, P, A, B, and Low-Profile B Case Sizes
Vishay is introducing a new series of surface-mount polymer tantalum molded chip capacitors for computer, telecom, and industrial applications with ultra-low ESR down to 30 mΩ at +25 °C and 100 kHz. Offered in the J, P, A, B, and T (low-profile B) case sizes, Vishay Polytech T55 series devices feature a wide capacitance range from 3.3 µF to 330 µF over voltage ratings from 2.5 V to 10 V.
New 40 V MOSFET in PowerPAK 8x8L Offers Space- and Power-Saving Replacement for D²PAK and DPAK Packages
Vishay will unveil a new 40 V TrenchFET power MOSFET in the 8 mm by 8 mm by 1.8 mm PowerPAK 8x8L package. Designed to provide a space- and power-saving replacement for D²PAK and DPAK devices in automotive applications, the Vishay Siliconix SQJQ402E is the industry’s first AEC-Q101-qualified MOSFET in the 8 mm by 8 mm footprint, and the first in an 8 mm by 8 mm package with J leads.
New Trench PT and FS IGBT Platform Reduces Conduction and Switching Losses for High Efficiency
Vishay is highlighting its new 600 V and 650 V Trench insulated gate bipolar transistor (IGBT) platform featuring Punch Through (PT) and Field Stop (FS) technologies. Designed to increase efficiency in motor drives, UPS, solar inverters, and welding machine inverters, the Vishay Semiconductors devices offer low collector-to-emitter voltages and fast and soft turn-on and turn-off for low conduction and switching losses. The IGBTs are optimized for use in power modules with Vishay’s new FRED Pt Gen 4 Ultrafast soft diodes.
Power Metal Strip Resistor Saves Space With 5 W Rating in 2818 Case Size
Vishay will be showcasing a new Power Metal Strip resistor that combines a high 5 W power rating with extremely low resistance values down to 1 mΩ in the compact 2818 case size. For automotive, industrial, and consumer applications, the Vishay Dale WSHM2818’s high power-to-footprint-size ratio allows designers to save board space and create smaller end products by replacing larger resistors with similar power capability and multiple devices with lower power ratings.
