Innovation, automation and optimization: these are the three keywords underlying the new test solutions for electronic boards showcased this year by Seica in its booth at electronica 2014 (Hall A1, Stand A1-459). Three, fully-automated test systems will provide a comprehensive overview of Seica’s VIP Platform, ranging from in-circuit to functional test, from flying probe test to standard, in-circuit test via a bed of nails, with specific attention to the optical functional test of LED components.
A combined in-circuit-functional tester, the QUAD-JOB Compact SL will demonstrate high-speed board panel test for high-volume production environments: excellent quality standards both in terms of measurements and data traceability, fully automated in-line configuration and true parallel test of 4 UUTs simultaneously. In addition, the system’s WCM-compliant architecture is testament to how the concepts of lean production have been implemented on the Compact Line to achieve a reduced footprint without affecting performance.
Visitors to the booth will also be able to see the Pilot4DV8, that is to say, the state-of-the-art in flying probe board test today, Shown in combination with its loading/unloading rack, it will demonstrate an example of completely operator-free, multi-function test for any type of board, using its eight flying probes to contact both sides of the UUT, the capability to perform power-on, on-board programming, boundary scan tests, 2D and 3D laser-based visual inspection and optical test of optoelectronic components, with the precision to contact very small components (up to metric 03015), guaranteeing unparalleled and demonstrable accuracy and repeatability.
But the true novelty in the Seica booth this year is the new Pilot FX platform, a true innovation in in-circuit and functional test; the missing link, now finally a reality. It represents the right balance of test throughput and test flexibility, able to apply dedicated, combinational test programs to panels of boards, optimizing the sharing and multiplication of expensive resources, thanks to its revolutionary mechanical motion system.
Pilot FX is not only about resource optimization or innovation or automatic and automated test: it represents the true nature of Seica. They have reached the twentieth anniversary of its first sale of a flying probe tester, and its 28th year in business.
